Sophie Daud

Co-founder, Youth Negotiators Academy
United Kingdom
Sophie Daud is an award-winning leader and youth participation advocate. Sophie began her career in the U.K. Government Civil Service, where she served as Private Secretary to a senior Cabinet Minister and worked on high-profile political priorities including child poverty and long-term unemployment. Having volunteered with the Future Leaders Network since 2016, she was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in 2019 and took up her role full time in 2020. In 2021, she was also appointed as Chair of the Youth 7 (Y7), the official youth engagement group for the G7 Heads of State meetings. Across her tenure, she supported more than 50,000 young people around the world to have their voices heard by world leaders, and interviewed two British Prime Ministers on the topic. She is regularly invited to advise on youth participation and leadership in the U.K. and internationally. In 2022, Sophie co-founded the Youth Negotiators Academy, whose first programme, the Climate Youth Negotiator Programme, worked with 26 countries and trained more than 50 young diplomats to negotiate and represent their countries at COP27. This year, CYNP has trained more than 100 young negotiators from more than 50 countries, many of whom will represent their countries at COP28 in Dubai.
