Research assistant non-timber forest products, Centre for Agricultural Research, Suriname (CELOS)
Luciano Doest graduated from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname as a bachelor's of science in environmental sciences. With his bachelor's thesis focused on forest degradation around artisanal small scale gold mining sites in Suriname. After graduating, he worked at the Surinamese Red Cross as a technical field officer for the community resilience building project (CRB). The project was focused on increasing resilience in vulnerable communities, on aspects of disaster risk management, climate and gender. Currently working as a research assistant non-timber forest products at the Center of Agricultural Research in Suriname (CELOS). Assisting in research of the non-timber forest products sector in Suriname and also assisting in obtaining data for forest ecology research.
