Jan Cornillie

Jan Cornillie is Senior Research Associate at the EIB Climate Chair of the European University in Florence, Italy. He is specialised in sustainable finance, renewable energy policy and carbon markets. Jan is also regional Manager Europe, Middle East and Asia at 3E, where he is leading the expansion into new markets such as renewable hydrogen. Since 2022, he is project manager of the Clean Energy for EU islands Secretariat. Jan has 18 years of experience in public policy and governance, negotiating at the highest level of government and working intensively with all major national and international stakeholders. He studied in London, did internships at the UNFCCC and the EBRD and started his career as economist in Oxford. Jan is a distinguished public speaker and has strong leadership experience as director, combining high-level strategic, policy and communication capabilities.
