Towards clean and sustainable fuels: Matching supply and demand

04 Dec 2023
Climate Action Stage

The latest figures from the International Maritime Organization suggest that the shipping industry is responsible for roughly 3% of global CO2 emissions and while shipping is essential for international trade, stakeholders across the industry recognise the impact of their operations and are taking steps towards reconciling their footprints with the growing pressure of global climate goals. Despite persistent challenges around misaligned incentives and high costs, industry leadership, governments, and multilateral organisations are increasingly implementing commitments towards global standards.  Join this session to hear industry stakeholders discuss strategies to accelerate investment in sustainable fuels, catalysing additional fuel production and technological innovation, and supporting legislation and policies that promote this transition.
